John Batley is an Australian guitar player/ singer/ songwriter with a unique style combining roots in folk, roots and blues. He picked up the guitar at a young age after hearing the likes of Tommy Emmanuel, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Phil Keaggy and countless other great guitarists and singer songwriters. There have been so many musical influences in John's life, that it is very difficult to pigeon hole his music. It's almost genre blurring.

These days John is almost always accompanied by the simply amazing Josh Payne on percussion. Together they have a truly original sound. Josh has a great dynamic ability which is expressive, yet sensible.

John and Josh both love playing live. To them, it's great to be able to express themselves in an often spontaneous way, while getting to meet new people and hear their stories. John has written many songs and recorded a few demo style EP's. Despite having not been professionally studio recorded, John's music has spent time on radio airwaves, and has received recognition from around the world thanks to digital technology. He has been nominated for"Best International Instrumental Album" with the Toronto Exclusive Music Awards, "Best International Folk Song" also with TEMA, been a finalist in the AGMA Music Awards in Canberra, and in 2009 has won 2 Gold Awards with the Christian Entertainment Awards in America.

John is married to Sam, and together they have 2 children; Hannah and Jack. They have made Queensland, Australia, their home. Josh is married to Kate, and together they own a set of drums. Josh is currently working toward getting his car back on the road....
