John Batley is an Australian guitar player/ singer/ songwriter with a unique style combining roots in folk, rock, and blues. He picked up the guitar at a young age after hearing the likes of Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robben Ford and Tommy Emmanuel.

John has been busy writing and recording both vocal and instrumental music.

“Reinvention of Me” is a mainly instrumental album with catchy melodies and toe tapping grooves combined with the subtleness of “ Jack’s Song”. All music and vocals were performed by John, including the percussion, which is played on his acoustic guitar. Anyone interested in a second hand guitar in good condition, please ring. This album has already been popular having been nominated for "Best International Instrumental Album" with the Toronto Exclusive Music Awards.

The "Dark to Light" EP is a vocal acoustic album. This collection of songs combines the percussive grooves and raw energy typical of John's music, with his heart felt lyrics. The opening track "Instantly" was nominated for "Best International Folk Song" in the same year as the instrumental album mentioned before.

When John plays live, he is accompanied by the likes of Josh Payne on percussion (pictured), Scott Green (bass), and Rhys Hood (bass). It is interesting to note that Josh brings his own gear and is not allowed to bash John’s guitar, and both bass players don’t play at the same time. It’s just that they are both married and can only play when they have spare time.

John is happily married to Sam, and they have two beautiful children; Hannah and Jack.
